Missionaries Reflect on Mobilization Efforts
In late June, a group of six Cheon Il Guk missionaries flew into New York City from Japan to support and invite as many people as they could to True Mother’s upcoming speech at Madison Square Garden. Each of the six missionaries reflect on their experiences approaching people of all backgrounds about the July 15 event.

After inviting people to True Mother’s speech, which was met with positivity by some and negativity by others—I have realized once again that I must truly do my best for our Heavenly Parent and True Parents. It was surprising to meet people with such a similar religious journey in a country and religion different from my own. The warmth of human nature was also surprising. When I handed a man an origami crane I had made, he gave me back a wristband. We then shook hands and the other missionaries and I had such an enjoyable time with the rest of the Christian church we visited. At that moment, I really felt that the world is meant to be one family under God.

I must have faith that God has prepared the people of America and the world. When I met another Japanese missionary team in New York who also came to promote True Mother’s upcoming speech, I realized that I can make an even deeper determination for God. Meeting the other group of Japanese missionaries made the importance of making our mind become one even clearer. Although our backgrounds are different, we should have the same heart for God. I could feel that every time someone was interested in True Mother’s speech, God was so happy.

After calling various Christian churches and even joining one of their Bible studies, I wished that they had known True Parents from the start. This also made me so grateful that I was born because of True Parents and the Blessing they gave to my parents. On another day, I went to two churches and joined their Sunday services. Thanks to God, the pastors agreed to go to Peace Starts With Me. I was praying constantly throughout the day—in the train, in the car, and at the church. Through it all, I felt our Heavenly Parent was always with me.

Seeing other pastors in the Unification movement visiting other churches and greeting pastors was very inspirational to me. My desire to help these pastors and God became even greater. Sometimes, I feel that as a missionary, the amount of help I can give is not much, but my desire to help and support True Mother did not change.

Visiting the churches and participating in a Bible study has made my desire to pray even greater. Because True Mother and True Father are trying to save everyone in this world, I want to live according to the standards set by True Parents.

I had the opportunity to visit a Muslim mosque. Before my visit, I felt the need to understand and know their truth and thought. The mosque was in Flushing, New York—an ideal region, because there are so many people with different religions in the same town, and everyone is open to each other’s religions. I believe being open is the first step for the world to become one, even with differences in languages and cultures. In visiting Flushing, I realized the value of True Father’s efforts to make all the religions in the world one.
Peace Starts With Me could not have been a gathering of people from all backgrounds and from all around the world without everyone’s efforts to make it an amazing event. Thank you to everyone for all your hard work, and we look forward to seeing you at the Garden on July 15!
