CARP 7-Day Divine Principle Workshop, 40-Day Road Trip
Two of the many exciting upcoming events and programs by the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) are a seven-day Divine Principle workshop in Las Vegas, from May 15-22, and a 40-day road trip to CARP chapters and Unification communities around the country.
7-Day Divine Principle Workshop
The seven-day workshop is intended for college-age young adults who are sincerely interested in studying and applying the Divine Principle and teachings of True Parents. From morning to night, there will be meaningful, thought-provoking and fun activities, organized by staff members of CARP Las Vegas.
Lectures, discussions and all other activities are geared toward new Unificationists who are studying the entire Divine Principle and learning about True Parents’ life course as beginners. Some basic knowledge of the Divine Principle is required to be able to fully benefit from this workshop. Young Unificationists who are interested in starting a CARP chapter, as well as those who are looking to make a new beginning in their life, are also welcome.
The workshop fee is $300 per person, which includes accommodations and airport pickup and drop-off. To apply, click on the link below.
40-Day Summer Training Road Trip
The 40-Day Summer Training is a road trip across the country. Starting in Las Vegas, NV, the road trip team plans to visit many cities and share their experiences with other CARP chapters and their communities.
The training will consist of:
- Divine Principle lecture practice
- Devotional practices of the Unification faith such as Hoon Dok Hwe (scripture reading) and prayer
- An introduction to fundraising and witnessing as a means to develop one’s faith, love, and conviction
- Sightseeing, sports, hikes, and social events with other young adults
The 40-day team will meet with the Generation Peace Academy (GPA) for their conclusion workshop and graduation ceremony in Barrytown, NY, followed by a pilgrimage in the New York and Washington, D.C. areas. Other tentative stops include: Salt Lake City, Denver, Des Moines, Clifton, Bowie, Chicago, and Dallas. Young people near these communities are invited to come and join the training at these stops.
Participants can decide when and how long they would like to be part of the 40-day training, but space is limited. For more details, questions, fees, and info about the application process, please contact CARP Las Vegas director, Akira Watanabe: akiracarplv@gmail.com or (510) 376-3541.
