Bay Area Unificationists Host Japan Culture Festival
On November 19, about 50 families with young children attended a Japanese Culture Festival hosted by the Bay Area Family Church at the Library of San Lorenzo.
The festival was filled with enjoyment and pride as the event organizers of Japanese descent dressed in traditional kimonos. For two hours, they shared origami demonstrations, a tea ceremony, and articles written in Japan with the audience. The organizers even told old folk tales through a puppet show and gave audience members a chance to try on a yukata.
The organizers hope that through this and other, similar events, they can connect with local community members in the Bay Area and share Japanese culture with them. The audience members certainly seemed to enjoy the cultural enchantments of Japan.
