Barrytown College Reaches its Enrollment Goal
Barrytown College recently hit a milestone when it reached its recruitment goal for the 2014-2015 school year. The HSA board found the recruitment results for the Fall 2014 class at Barrytown College to be promising, with thirty new freshmen—roughly twice the number of students as last year’s class—expected to begin classes in the fall at the undergraduate program of the Unification Theological Seminary (UTS) in Barrytown, N.Y. With the support of UTS alumni, students, staff and a wide outpouring from the general Unification community, the college is ready to enter its second year.
As Robin James Graham, president of the UTS Alumni Association, pointed out, many colleges and universities began from humble beginnings, with only a few students, before blossoming into successful and highly ranked institutions. Now that these goals have been met, the staff at Barrytown College are looking ahead at the future they would like to create and feel that the school has a significant role to play in the years to come. “I am confident that the role of Barrytown will continue to be of value—and probably even greater value—in the near future,” said Robin. Noting the recruitment goal for 2020, he added, “The need for education is paramount. There will be many more capable leaders needed to help manage and coordinate the great numbers expected.”
Those capable leaders are what Barrytown College and UTS hope to create through their programs—something that will benefit not only the school but also the students’ own communities, families and the nation as a whole.
