On December 20, a group of 50 African clergy and 200 guests convened for a revival dinner in the Arbor Ballroom of The Washington Times building with the purpose of uniting different denominations “as one body of Christ for peace in the nation and the world.”
The program, titled “Peace Starts With Me – African Pastors United as One: A New Hope for a Heavenly World,” featured a keynote address from Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, regional chairman of Family Federation North America and national co-chairman of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), who thanked all African clergy present for their dedication to God. Dr. Kim explained that God is color blind and all of humankind are His children.
Powerful messages of unity from Venerable Superior Evangelist (VSE) Joseph Olorunnisola of the American Diocese of the Celestial Church of Christ, Prophet Ebenezer Akinsunlola, senior pastor of Worldwide Prayer Centre, Dr. Osondu Chigbo of Osondu World Outreach Ministries, Dr. Michael Jenkins, chairman of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) USA, Archbishop George Augustus Stallings, Jr., chairman of the International Association for Peace and Development (IAPD), and Dr. Luonne Rouse, co-chairman of ACLC, inspired participants through cultivating a ‘Heavenly’ atmosphere in the ballroom.
The revival concluded with Bishop Martin Webb, head of the American Diocese of the Celestial Church of Christ, presenting a plaque of recognition to Dr. Kim and VSE Olorunnisola for their support and presence in the event, followed by Atlanta Interim Senior Pastor Rev. Levy Daugherty and his wife, Claire, explaining the importance of the Marriage Blessing.
