ACLC Kicks off in Southern Virginia with Prayer Breakfast

Proceeding the joyous success of the April 6 Peace Starts With Me Rally at the City of Refuge Church in Los Angeles, California, 27 concerned, family-driven, community-minded pastors and leaders with deep grassroots interest in bringing America back to God, participated in launching the Southern Virginia chapter of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), or ACLC SOVA.

Doors opened at 9 AM on April 25 at the Norfolk Unification Family Center in Norfolk, VA, and the guests began pouring in shortly after. The 27 leaders who attended were of a diverse leadership spectrum and included attorneys, pastors and ministry leaders, real estate developers, leaders of civic organizations, concerned citizens, fathers and sons, and a micro-sampling of America’s Pentecostal Community. All attendees identified with the message of Peace Starts with Me and with my family.

For 19 years, ACLC has brought people of different faith denominations together under the banner of peace. Its mission is to strengthen marriages and families, restore communities, and lead America to freedom, faith, harmony and prosperity.

The organizing leaders of this new chapter include ACLC National Executive Adviser Reverend Levy Daugherty, Dr. Vanessa Owens, Pastor Mary Helen Robles, Pastor Nobuko Pheomolla, Mrs. Joan Wmalima, Bishop Greg and Dr. Gwendolyn Proctor, and Fr. Bayo and Missionary Ayano Adrien. Each of the leaders were moved by the principle that governs our shared existence, which is to “live for the sake of the Lord our God, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.” They first came together in March in Norfolk, Virginia, and have prayed and planned together ever since.

The ACLC SOVA chapter would like to give special thanks to participants who came down from Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA to make the event a success. They also give thanks to the ACLC National Leadership and to members of District One who gave support through their continued prayers, advice, and presence.

The next prayer breakfast will be in Norfolk on Thursday, May 30.
