7-Day Workshop Provides New Perspective
“This was a special seven-day workshop,” said Rev. Andrew Compton, Education Director at IPEC. The 20th Seven-Day Divine Principle Workshop at IPEC welcomed four new guests, and overlapped True Mother’s visit to Las Vegas.
“I really felt that we were holding the seminar in her home and that her spirit was watching over us,” said Rev. Compton.
As usual, the spirit of the workshop was engaging and uniquely affected by the natures of the participants. “One good experience I had was getting to learn about every person who came,” said young Unificationist, Mimi Wetherall. “I am always amazed by the diversity in people and yet how they can always seem to come together. I really felt I began to understand the world on a deeper and more sincere level after spending time here.” One of the guests, Danielle, echoed this sentiment: “I like to meet new people and get to know them.” Danielle was also excited to learn the teachings of the Divine Principle. “If there were less breaks, longer classes, it would be better,” she said.
Regarding the education, Mimi said, “I learned a lot about things I already understood on a basic level, but I was able to grasp the topics more concretely. I gained a better understanding of my parents and their beliefs, and why this study is so important to them. “
“I really deeply came to appreciate God’s heart for His children much more through these seven days and made me more clear where we are standing right now with God’s providence,” said Unificationist participant Reiko Jenkins. “Every activity was very meaningful.”
Participants said they would recommend the workshop to friends and family. “I have a family friend who I think would really enjoy and get a renewed understanding of the world through coming here, so I would suggest it to her,” said Mimi.
Brandon Bigfoot, one of the guests participating, said “I would bring a friend and I would have more time to learn about God and Jesus.”
Participant Kevin Bigfoot said, “I would tell all my friends about this church and try to get them to join. This is a really good church. I would like to see them learning a lot.”
