59th Children’s Day & 31st Foundation Day of the United Nation of Heaven and Earth
Thursday, November 8, 2018 marks the 59th True Children’s Day and the 31st Foundation Day of the United Nation of Heaven and Earth. True Father defined true children as whoever inherits the spirit of True Parents. True Children’s Day is a day to express love and gratitude to our Heavenly Parent and True Parents. This Holy Day was supposed to be the original holiday, because before Adam and Eve could become parents, they were supposed to be true children.
“The establishment of Children’s day signifies the appearance of sons and daughters who are able to rectify the fact that they lost God due to the wrongful actions of God’s children. Once those children emerge, they must find God by means of establishing Children’s Day… Children’s Day is the greatest among the holy days… We Unificationists cannot attend the Heavenly Parent only by ourselves. To attend Him we must build a bridge for others to do the same. Furthermore, we must build a bridge for those who have gone to the spirit world, both men and women. This day is not only for Unificationists; it is a day for all people of the world to mark and celebrate forever and ever. Children’s Day is indeed the most blessed day for humankind.” – Cheong Seong Gyeong (Book 11, Chapter 5, “The Holy Days and Anniversaries”) pp. 1224
On October 3, 1988, True Parents proclaimed Foundation Day for the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth after the conclusion of the Seoul Olympic Games. True Father explained that an ideal world must be achieved through external and internal unification and the unity between democracy and communism which was symbolically realized through the 1988 Seoul Olympics. True Father announced that Americans, Koreans and Japanese must make trinities together and above all, we are now brothers and sisters creating one family under God.
