58th True Parents’ Day Community Celebrations
On March 28, Unificationists around the world celebrated the 58th True Parents’ Day. Here are some highlights from our USA celebrations:
Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Family Church celebrated True Parents’ Day in sync with their March 26 Sunday Service. There was music, prayer, and a cake was shared by all.
Las Vegas
In Las Vegas, True Parents’ Day was officially celebrated together with Heavenly Parent’s Day on January 28, 2017. However, several local families celebrated this Holy Day this week in their homes.
Queens
Dr. Michael Balcomb, FFWPU USA President, and his wife, Mrs. Fumiko Balcomb, attended the True Parents’ celebration at the Queens Family Church on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Local Unificationists prepared the offering table and enjoyed music and fellowship together.
New Jersey
On the evening of Monday, March 27, Blessed families of District 3 gathered at the Clifton Family Church to observe the 58th True Parents’ Day. Although True Parents’ Day fell on a Tuesday (March 28), the community felt it would be easier for families to gather in the evening before when the Holy Day fell on weekdays. Around 25 people gathered for this event.
After the choir opened the night with song and prayer, a young Unificationist brother offered a musical piece by piano. Pastor Manoj Jacob decided that from now on, every Holy Day celebration will feature a musical offering.
Before the event concluded, Pastor Manoj reminded the community that True Parents’ Day is not just a celebration. It also holds a reminder for all of us to practice offering a parental heart to our community.
