The Power of Uniting with True Parents

On February 4, the Clifton Family Church community received plenty of inspiration for the week as the Continental Chairman of Family Federation North America, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, delivered the Sunday sermon, Demian Dunkley was inaugurated as the Northeast Subregional Director, and the local tribal messiah meeting was held.

Unificationists in attendance were pleased to welcome Dr. Kim, who gave a detailed account of True Mother’s visit to Senegal as well as her short visit to the National Ministry Team at USA Headquarters. As noted by Demian later on in the service, Dr. Kim acted as a bridge between the local Unificationists and True Mother, contextualizing True Mother’s activities from her perspective. In particular, Dr. Kim explained that prior to the World Africa Summit, True Mother had prayed for over a year with the pain of the 20 million ancestors and descendants of Africa in her heart. Emphasizing that True Mother’s heart for Africa did not begin and end with the World Africa Summit, Dr. Kim further explained that True Mother shared a deep, emotional moment at the Door of No Return in her visit to Goree Island.

After Dr. Kim’s message, Demian Dunkley was inaugurated as Northeast Subregional Director by his local community. In his inaugural speech, Demian highlighted his desires to unite with True Mother and to grow tribal messiahship across America and eventually the world. “If we unite with True Parents, other miracles will come even if we don’t know what to do. God will show us the way,” said Demian.  

Later in the day, 60 Unificationists reconvened for the Heavenly Tribal Messiah meeting. Led by Demian, who is also the National Director of Evangelism and Education, District 3 Pastor Rev. Manoj Jacob, and District 3 Witnessing and Education Coordinator Atsushi Takino, the meeting allowed local tribal messiahs to refocus on their goal to unite people under God through tribal messiahship. Demian underscored that if people are one with True Mother, anything truly is possible. What improves this unity, Demian continued, is the rise of second-generation Unificationists and other young people who choose to live according to True Parents’ teachings.

Atsushi expressed his conviction in actualizing the goals of tribal messiahs: “I feel that both younger and older people of our era stand together. They have the hearts to work together to create the new world under God.”
