Dr. Michael Balcomb’s Farewell Message at Belvedere
Dr. Michael Balcomb, former FFWPU USA President, delivered a farewell message to the Belvedere Family Church about heeding God’s call on August 13, 2017. With the FFWPU USA President of the last four years set to continue his mission for God as the Continental Chairman of FFWPU Europe, Unificationists from the tri-state area came together on a beautiful Sunday morning to appreciate Dr. Michael Balcomb as he delivered his farewell sermon.
Dr. Balcomb’s sermon emphasized to the Unificationists that they must have a desire to be called upon by God to fulfill His will. Dr. Balcomb noted the ways in which God has called upon His people, and how they have responded. When God calls upon them, it is the responsibility of His people to fulfill their responsibility in making God’s vision come true. Ultimately, Dr. Balcomb reminded those in attendance, Unificationists should have the heart that asks God, “Send me!” In other words, as intimidating as it may be to be called by God, we should have the desire to be the ones who are called by Him.
There was a spirit of celebration for Dr. Balcomb’s leadership under Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Continental Chairman of FFWPU North America, as various representatives of the community went on stage to share how Dr. Balcomb has acted as a true brother throughout his time as FFWPU USA President. Showing appreciation to one of their main leaders of the Unificationist movement in America, the Unificationists made this farewell full of warmth, gratitude, and love.

Thank you Rev. Balcomb for your sermon. You didn’t lose any time to start on your new mission. We are grateful that you go to Europe, Middle East and Eurasia. Our families are there and we know that the picture of Europe has changed with so many refugees from Syria. I remember the Grand Mufti of Syria who loved our True Father so much. Our prayers are with you.
