Celebrating Easter as a Community
Easter holds a double significance for Unificationists as we honor on that day both Jesus Christ’s victorious resurrection and True Father’s calling to inherit Christ’s mission as a young boy. Unification communities, like the South Florida Family Church mentioned below, held Easter services this past weekend, creating opportunities to reconnect with one another and to celebrate life itself.

We had an Easter service. A good amount of people who haven’t come in a while were there, too. After service, people connected while eating, and after that we had our Easter egg hunt. We had different colored eggs, blue for kids (filled with candy) and white for adults (filled with different amounts of cash–most with $1, some with none, two with $5 and one with $20). Everyone gathered by the door and were let out to find the eggs, which were scattered over the property. Everyone showed excitement, from the young people to the elders. Yas Ishida was the lucky one to find the $20 egg. After the hunt, people stayed and chatted over snacks and mocktails, and even painted eggs filled with confetti. We had fun throwing the confetti afterwards. It really was a great day and a lot of people stayed for the fun.
