This was a very busy week for us with Semana Santa (or “Holy Week,” the week before Easter) coming up next week. All schools and businesses will be closed, so this week we invested even more into our outreach efforts by devoting more time to witnessing.
Throughout this week, we also spent a lot of time with the new friends we’ve made through our witnessing so far, going out on pizza dates and ice cream outings! We are getting ready for our first two-day Divine Principle workshop, so we’ve been spending a lot of time together to prepare our friends to learn more about the Divine Principle.
On Thursday April 5, we also had a “send-off celebration” for three members of the Costa Rican Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) chapter who will soon travel to the United States for one year to attend the International Leadership Training Program (ILTP).
We will miss them a lot but we are all excited for them on their journey to grow their lives of faith and discover more about the heart of God and True Parents. Here are some testimonies they shared with us:
“I want to go to ILTP because I want to make the God’s dream come true, restore my fallen nature and share my true love with the people in America. I hope I can feel the heart of God and the True Parents and feel their suffering. When I come back I want to share with my brothers and sisters all I’ve learned and I will work in CARP Costa Rica with a better, more mature and bigger heart full of true love.” –Jocelyne Blanco, 18
“When I was a full-time member of CARP, I observed the missionaries who came, saw their way of being and their passion for True Parents, and I thought I would like to be a person to comfort God’s bitter heart. The next day Mr. Manho Woo, president of CARP Costa Rica, spoke and recommended ILTP; I wanted to grow as a person and feel the heart of True Parents, so I decided that I had to go to this program. During my time at CARP, the new members asked me questions, sometimes so deep that I could not answer them. I want to return and be able to support those people, to be able to help them with any doubts they may have and to share with them everything I will learn in ILTP, and also to be a leader in CARP Costa Rica and support and help with all the experience and knowledge I will acquire.” –Manuel Navarro, 19
