Community Refreshed by Unification Thought Lectures
After the huge success of a workshop informally known as the “Culture Wars” in late November 2016, Rev. Kevin Thompson and the Bay Area Family Church invited lecturer Gerry Servito back to share Part 2 of his Unification Thought Series. On Friday, January 7, 70 attendees gathered at the church in San Leandro for a weekend of presentations and discussion. There, Gerry delved into Unification perspectives on art, ethics, and education. By presenting a philosophy that stresses absolute core values and truths in his lectures, Gerry hopes to offer an alternative to relativism.
Attendees reported that they felt greater clarity after the series, and were grateful to hear Gerry speak. Many agreed that the emphasis on philosophy was refreshing after attending so many Divine Principle workshops that rely heavily on a Judeo-Christian lens.
Gerry encourages those who would like to learn more about Unification Thought and how it relates to western philosophies to join the online lecture series offered by Dr. Claude Perrottet at the University of Bridgeport. You can sign up for the series here.
