WFWP Arizona ‘HerStory Award’ Makes Front Page News
On Saturday, October 1, 2016, the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) held a HerStory Award event, which made it onto the front page news of the Fil-Am newspaper in Arizona. Over 100 guests attended the event and were invited for their outstanding efforts in their community.
City Councilman, Judge Mark Anderson, Lieutenant Police, and several Latina radio talk show hosts, as well as children, parents and grandparents of the honorees attended. Miss Teen Latina 2016 and Miss Earth 2016 together with the Miss Curvy Line Queens 2016 were also present.
“We had a literal star-studded event!” commented Rhia Nkulu, who was the main organizer of this program. “Because of the success of our event, two City Councilmen of Chandler offered to come to our next event.”
Many of the honorees verbalized how grateful they are for the award, expressed interest in working with WFWP, and offered their help and support in their next events. WFWP Arizona is already planning a Toy Drive and Christmas party for December 10, and many local WFWP members will be attending the WFWP USA National Assembly from November 11-13
