Youth Ministry Hosts Volunteer Retreat at the Beach

The New Jersey Youth Ministry conducted its annual three-day retreat for the volunteers who help out with the God’s Own (GO) youth program from March 11-13, 2016.
The senior youth ministry staff organized the retreat to express appreciation for the volunteers and to remind them of the crucial role they play in the lives of the younger generation in their community.
The youth ministry team rented a three-story beach house in Ocean City only three blocks away from the boardwalk, where they were able to accommodate 40 of their volunteer staff members for the weekend.
Throughout the weekend, the senior staff facilitated different activities to help everyone to reconnect and revive. These activities included hunting for Easter eggs in the sand, having one-on-one pair shares on the boardwalk, and singing and dancing together in the living room after dinner.
During an intimate worship service on Sunday morning, New Jersey Youth Pastor Raymond Burns tied the different purposes of the weekend together in a short talk about how to be good role models for the youth in our community, encouraging us to strive to do what is right and best for the sake of the kids we serve every week.
