2,075 Couple Prepares for Return to Madison Square Garden
Jorg and Ayako Heller are one of the 2,075 couples who were Blessed in marriage at Madison Square Garden 35 years ago. For the past few weeks, they have been making great strides to make True Parents’ return to the Garden even greater than their past historic events at the venue.
Having become familiar with the diversity, glamour, and power of New York for the past couple decades, the couple feels ready to welcome True Mother back to where she shared such memorable moments with True Father, including the Hellers’ marriage in 1982. “New York is our home, and Madison Square Garden was at the start of it all.” Ayako said.
Jorg and Ayako have relentlessly invited numerous people on the streets of New York to spread the word about “Peace Starts with Me,” handing out postcards of the event and promoting the 2,000 voice choir. They have also revived relationships with Christian churches of their past, as they campaigned for them to come to the event to people they had not seen for over ten years.
The couple has mobilized for important Unificationist rallies in the past, including True Father’s 1976 speech at Washington Monument. The opportunity to help America welcome True Mother, however, is particularly special for the couple. “This is different from regular mobilization,” Ayako said. “This mobilization is a big step in making us successful Tribal Messiahs.”
