Las Vegas, IPEC Ready to Welcome True Parents

As we look forward in earnest to True Mother’s arrival tomorrow in America, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Continental Chair of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), shares the latest news from Las Vegas and encourages us all to prepare in heart for True Mother’s arrival.

Preparing in Heart to Welcome True Mother

Around the country, Unificationists are preparing for True Mother’s arrival. She will be in New York and Las Vegas over the course of the week, sharing her message with the American Unification family. Two weeks ago, Dr. Kim visited Las Vegas and shared a message with the local community who is diligently preparing to welcome True Mother in just a few days.

“I feel very energetic whenever I come to Las Vegas,” shared Dr. Kim. “Because True Mother is coming, on the one hand I feel tension, but on the other hand I feel joy. I have to digest these two extremes so that I can create a good spirit. Please let us welcome True Mother. Preparation is very important; prayer and devotion is critical when we receive True Parents. Let us sincerely welcome True Mother! Rev. Ken Doo and our local council members are preparing for so many guests to come. Yes, True Mother will make you busier and busier every day. Let us digest it, and it will become a blessing from God and True Parents.”

On May 20, 2015, Dr. Kim recently returned to Las Vegas and joined the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) Las Vegas as they held a Spring Semester Appreciation Breakfast at the CARP house. They invited people from the Las Vegas Church community who have contributed financially or in other ways, and Generation Peace Academy members, UPA graduates and Japanese missionaries. The event started with a beautiful hand-made breakfast, and followed with a video that highlighted the whole spring semester, then continued with moving testimonies from each of the CARP members and missionaries. It was concluded by a heartfelt message by Dr. Kim. Those who gathered were filled with hope and concluded with determination in their work in Las Vegas.

Our Collective Gift

We would like to share the exciting news that the American Unification family has successfully completed the goal of donating 3 million dollars for the building of the International Peace Education Center in Las Vegas. In doing so we have supported this project, initiated by True Father, aimed at offering a new vision for peace and human development to world leaders. The national ministry team sincerely thanks all the dedicated individuals and families who generously donated for this purpose. We could not have achieved this goal without each and every one of your contributions and investment. This is a very inspiring time, when so many of our families came together, and for the first time in the history of our American movement, we were able to make such substantial gift collectively.

True Father proposed the realization of a major educational institution where world leaders would be inspired by the worldview of Family Federation and its associated organizations—and in just a few days, we will see this vision come to life. As you know, True Mother will arrive in New York this Friday, May 22. The seven-day Divine Principle workshop will begin at IPEC that day, and will close with the official opening and sanctification ceremony of IPEC on Thursday, May 28, 2015. We are proud to have reached this important milestone before True Mother arrived, and again would like to express gratitude to our Heavenly Parent and True Parents for sharing this great vision with all of us.
