New Positions in Youth, Students, Young Adult Ministry
True Mother initiated an FFWPU international ministry structure in 2016. This structure is organized into three central ministries that support the fulfillment of Vision 2020 –Witnessing and Education, Blessed Family, and Youth and Students.
On Foundation Day 2016, the regional directors for each of these three ministries were established worldwide and commissioned to fulfill the responsibilities of their respective role. Naokimi Ushiroda has stepped down as the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) USA President to accept the role of Director of the Youth, Students and Young Adult Ministry in America. Teresa Rischl has been confirmed as the new CARP USA president and will soon be inaugurated.
The goals of the three ministries include: providing tools and resources to FFWPU families, raising the satisfaction and happiness of FFWPU families, empowering the work of Tribal Messiahs, upgrading Marriage Blessing administration, reenergizing the Marriage Blessing movement, creating programs for marriages and families, educating youth and students, and developing leadership opportunities for young aspiring leaders.
In the United States, the national directors of these three ministries are:
- Demian Dunkley, Director of the Evangelism/Witnessing Department
- Crescentia DeGoede, Director of the Blessing and Family Ministry (BFM)
- Naokimi Ushiroda, Director of the Youth, Students and Young Adult Ministry.
Based on the ministry structure established on the international and regional levels by True Mother, Demian, Crescentia, and Naokimi have worked for the past year with the district pastors to establish coordinators in each of the 14 districts of the U.S. to further develop these three areas of ministry, with the ultimate goal of providing better care and support to all blessed families in North America.
Demian, Crescentia, and Naokimi have expressed their gratitude to True Mother for establishing this new ministry structure, and are excited for the implementation of this structure on the district and local levels in the U.S. and its potential accomplishments. They hope this will bring great results for the fulfillment of Vision 2020 in the U.S. and worldwide.
To fulfill his new appointment, Naokimi Ushiroda stepped down as CARP USA president and Teresa Rischl has stepped into the role of CARP USA President with True Mother’s blessings. Teresa served CARP USA for the past three and a half years in various roles, most recently as the Vice President.
“I want to be a person that God and True Parents can trust,” said Teresa when asked how she felt about her new responsibilities. “Dr. (Ki Hoon) Kim let me know True Mother is excited that there is a woman leader in CARP. I’ve learned so much from our True Mother’s example and I’m excited to go forward together in this historic time.”
When asked about her focus for CARP for 2017, Teresa said, “My focus for this year is to develop the national and international team of students, professors, advisers, pastors, board members, ministry and affiliate leaders. If anyone would like to support, please email me at teresa@carplife.org.”
