Happy True Children’s Day!
On November 18, 2017, Unificationists around the nation celebrated the 58th True Children’s Day and the 30th Foundation Day of the United Nation of Heaven and Earth. Families gathered in their homes and communities to start their day in prayer and celebrate that we are all children of God.
At East Garden, over 100 Unificationists including parents and children gathered together and shared songs and prayers with a colorful offering table in front of the room. FFWPU USA President Rev. Richard Buessing led the celebration, while others delivered moving messages on the meaning of True Children’s Day. Here is Rev. Buessing’s full message:
Several other locations shared photos and stories of their True Children’s Day celebrations:
Honolulu Family Church
Over 40 Unificationists got together at the Honolulu Family Church for their True Children’s Day prayer and festivities. During the service, Hawaii District Pastor Rev. Kazuo Takami shared with the congregation about the Global Rally for the Reunification of the Korean Peninsula and the Interreligious Leaders’ Conference. It was a particularly special trip to Korea for Rev. Takami, since he went with four other members of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) chapter in Hawaii.
After the service, the Unificationists enjoyed a delicious meal together, as children of God.
Elizabeth Family Church
The celebration continued in Elizabeth, NJ, as the Unificationists of the diverse community gathered on an early Saturday morning to understand the importance of our existence as God’s children. The abundance of children in the community made for an exciting True Children’s Day, as their energy and vivacity gave joy to the parents of the community as well as to our Heavenly Parent, God.
North Carolina Family Church
The Unificationists of North Carolina shared an intimate, tight-knit celebration of True Children’s day. Pastors Joshua and Homare Angelucci read and discussed words from True Father on the meaning of True Children’s Day. John and Sharon Pace presided over the celebration, while Hidetsugu and Theresa Asada prepared a beautiful offering table to honor their parent with food resembling his loving nature.
