Background

Rev. Peeter Saarna was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1958. His parents are from the former Soviet Republic of Estonia. He enjoyed playing drums in night clubs in various country, reggae, Latin jazz and top 40 bands in Toronto. He was studying music at Humber College in Toronto when he joined the Unification Movement in 1978 while in the Bay Area, California.

He worked in the Bay Area carpet cleaning business and then joined MFT. Soon after, he went to work with the Christian Bernard Jewelry Company.  In 1979 Peeter joined the musical group Sunburst in New York playing drums. He also started his own Home Church. In 1982 Peeter received the Marriage Blessing with Mieko Yamamoto from Japan in the 2075 Couples’ Marriage Blessing Ceremony. They have four children.

Right after receiving the Marriage Blessing, Peeter went rejoined MFT. A year later, he joined IOWC. Peeter spent the following year in Ogden, Utah as part of a pioneer missionary team focused on Religious Freedom work. At the end of 1984 Peeter went to Kansas and worked in pioneer centers for FFWPU USA in Manhattan, Kansas and Wichita, Kansas with CAUSA. In 1985 he went to Colorado and joined the Eastwind Band.  In 1986 he came back to Kansas and pioneered FFWPU USA in Hutchinson, Kansas with Mieko.  In 1987 Peeter he served as the FFWPU USA city leader for Topeka, Kansas and in late 1992, he served as the FFWPU USA State Leader of Kansas.

Peeter graduated from Regents College (now known as Excelsior College) in 1997 with a B.S. in Liberal Arts.

In 1998 Peeter’s family moved to Tokyo, Japan where Peeter taught English at Tamachi Nova and at Machida High School. In 2000, Peeter’s family moved to Myanmar in Southeast Asia where he served in the role of National Messiah. He later initiated UPF Myanmar chapter serving as Secretary General. In 2005, Peeter’s family moved back to Kansas where he served again as state leader where he continues to work with ACLC and has started a Sunday Service Band.
